How To Train Around A 60-Hour Work Week And Still Make Progress

Sixty hour weeks do not have to mean no progress. They demand a different model. Here is how to train, eat and recover when your calendar is full.

How To Train Around A 60-Hour Work Week And Still Make Progress
01

The 60 Hour Reality

Many of the men we coach work sixty hours or more across the week. Early starts, late nights, travel, client dinners and unpredictable calendars. The standard fitness advice does not survive contact with that schedule.

What works is a model designed for limited time, limited recovery, and high cognitive load.

02

Anchor Three Sessions, Plan Two

Lock in three non-negotiable sessions a week, ideally forty five to sixty minutes each. Treat them like board meetings. Then plan two flex sessions, twenty to thirty minutes each, that move based on the week.

On a heavy travel week, you might only hit the three anchors. On a calm week, you hit all five. Either way, the floor is protected.

03

Train Smart, Not Long

High-density sessions outperform long ones. Two to three compound lifts, paired with supersets and minimal rest where appropriate, can deliver more stimulus in forty five minutes than ninety minutes of wandering.

Use a clear program with progressions. Train hard, leave on time. Decision fatigue at the end of a long day kills consistency.

04

Nutrition That Survives Travel And Dinners

Default to a high-protein breakfast, a controllable lunch, and flexibility at dinner. When traveling, prioritise protein at every meal, control alcohol, and skip the snack carousel.

Calorie targets bend, not break. A travel week eaten at maintenance is a win when you would otherwise be five hundred over.

05

Recovery As Performance

Treat sleep like training. Set a fixed sleep window most nights. Cut caffeine by early afternoon. Build a ten minute decompression block before bed.

Most sixty hour week men do not need more training. They need better recovery, smarter sessions, and a coach managing the variables behind the scenes.
